Hokkaido - Frozen Space
The northernmost Japanese island Hokkaido displays very different and dynamic landcapes in winter
The snow blanketed inland often features delicate minimalistic frozen scenes,
with single trees guarding endless snowscapes
The northern coastline offers a very different feel.
Here everything looks abandoned and buried in snowdrifts whipped up by Siberian winds,
while boats are lifted out of the water because harbours freeze up.
